Water is the most frequently used excipient in pharmaceutical production in terms of quantity. Therefore, microbiological monitoring of plants for the production and distribution of pharmaceutical water plays a central role in any microbiological control strategy. The aim of this webinar is to provide an overview of microbiological monitoring of water systems in accordance with international guidelines. Among others, the following main topics will be discussed: The methods and requirements for microbiological monitoring, including the much discussed online methods, basic information on the occurrence of biofilms and preventive sanitation measures, the procedure for investigating deviating results and aspects of microbiological validation of water systems.
