Recommendation

16-18 June 2026
Good Engineering Practice for Pharmaceutical Companies and Suppliers
VDI/ÖFR/SWKI-MT 6022 Sheet 8.1 is now the valid version for the qualification of personnel for the cleaning of air conditioning systems and air ducts. The new sheet closes the gap between Sheet 2 (training categories) and Sheet 8 (implementation of air conditioning system cleaning) and defines the binding competencies, training content, examinations and evidence that the personnel carrying out the work and the training providers must fulfil. The goal remains to qualify employees of a specialist ventilation cleaning company for the application of VDI/ÖFR/SWKI 6022 Sheet 8. It is aimed in particular at maintenance and cleaning companies, plant operators and facility management.
Sheet 8.1 belongs to the VDI 6022 guideline family ‘Ventilation and indoor-air quality - Hygiene requirements’ and transfers the training system from Sheet 2 into a practical qualification programme specifically for cleaning in accordance with Sheet 8. The number of pages has increased from eight to fourteen compared to the draft. The current document (issue date 11/2025) sets out the binding qualification framework for personnel and providers. Sheet 8.1 specifies the minimum requirements for training providers, instructors and participants and contains structured training and instruction content with demonstrations, practical exercises and examination requirements.
For operators and service providers, Sheet 8.1 creates legal certainty and comparability in terms of qualifications and verification, and establishes personnel qualification as a central element for the hygienically flawless implementation of the cleaning requirements from Sheet 8.
Guideline 6022 Sheet 8.1 is available from DIN Media.
