USP plans new General Chapter on Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC)

The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) intends to develop a new general chapter on Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC). The chapter is expected to describe the principles of the technique, practical aspects of its application, and provide guidance on experimental setup.
A General Chapter Prospectus dated 02 April 2026 states: "USP has a general chapter <621> Chromatography, which is a harmonized chapter between the European Pharmacopoeia, the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, and the Indian Pharmacopoeia. [...] USP intends to develop a new general chapter <xxx(x)> on Supercritical Fluid Chromatography (SFC) which will add another useful chromatographic technique to the USP-NF toolbox of chromatography that can be used for the analysis of pharmaceuticals and other products [...]"
