USP-NF Stimuli Article on Apex Vessels used in Dissolution Testing: Corrected Version Published

Recommendation
23/24 June 2026
Development / Quality Control and in vivo Relevance
In the Pharmacopeial Forum, PF 51(5), a corrected version of the Stimuli article entitled "Characterization of Apex Vessel Geometries and Irregularities", was made available.
The article was originally published in PF 51(1). A summary of the content can be found in our news archive. The reason for the correction is that an incorrect version of Figure 6c (Skewness plot for axis-cylinder and -hemisphere perpendicularity) appeared in the article.
The briefing notes state: "This Stimuli article was originally published in PF 51(1) [Jan.–Feb. 2025]. Subsequently, Figure 6c was corrected and posted as a Compendial Notice. With permission, the corrected article was republished in the February 2025 issue of Dissolution Technologies (doi:10.14227/DT320125P6). The following is a republication of the corrected version."
The Stimuli article is available after registration in the Pharmacopeial Forum. Comments can be submitted until 30 November 2025.
