Protection from Falsification of Medicinal Products - only a few Months until Track & Trace Start!

In their new press release, securPharm e.V. points out that the new protection system for pharmaceuticals will be launched on 9 February 2019. Although they are satisfied with the way the system setup is progressing, many market operators still need to connect to securPharm.

Key elements of the new security system are the use of tamper evidence packaging and the labelling of each packaging with an individual serial number.

securPharm is already connected to the European hub responsible for the data exchange of individual serial numbers between the security systems of the participating countries. Establishing a European network against falsified medicinal products is a great challenge for everyone involved, which system users can only master through early connection to the system and an adequate training period, says Dr Reinhard Hoferichter, board spokesman of securPharm.

In 2017, more pharmaceutical companies than ever before entered into a contract with securPharm: they now count 200 pharmaceutical companies. It is strongly recommended to join soon, since it may be a close call for individual manufacturers otherwise.

securPharm is the German component of an EU-wide network against falsified pharmaceuticals with the goal of offering a system which may be used by all market operators by 9 February 2019.
