Supervision of the Pharmaceutical Quality System: Challenges and Opportunities
Emer Cooke from Ireland will be the new director of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam, succeeding the Italian Professor Guido Rasi. This was announced by the EMA Management Board.
Emer Cooke, who has a degree in pharmacy and also holds master degrees in science and business administration, will be able to officially take over her new position after her statement to the European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) on 13 July.
Emer Cooke has already been with EMA before becoming Head of the Department of Drug Regulation at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. Between 2002 and 2016, she was Head of Inspections and Head of International Affairs, among others.
