The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) of the Council of Europe has published a “Technical guide on documentation supporting compliance and safety of food contact materials and articles”. Prepared by a dedicated working group and approved for publication by the European Committee for Food Contact Materials and Articles, the new guide is intended to assist manufacturers of food contact materials (FCMs) and articles in the preparation of supporting documentation and subsequent declarations of compliance. It should be read in conjunction with material-specific guidance documents and relevant European Union and national legislation. A supporting checklist is included for free download and use.
