Specifics in the Distribution of Medicinal Products
The Good Manufacturing and Distribution Practice Symposia 2023, organized by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) were held on 21 and 22 February 2023. The first day of the conference focused on regulatory developments in the area of Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
The event was aimed at wholesalers and their Responsible Persons and Quality personnel, but also in general at all persons involved in procuring, supplying, exporting, and storing of medicinal products.
The agenda lists many current topics that we have reported on in recent months. For example, the pilot program for monitoring GMP and GDP activities that started in 2022, whereby approved consultants, so-called Compliance Monitors (CM), will supervise the completion of an agreed Compliance Protocol (CP). The role of the Responsible Person (import) - (RPi) and their eligibility and suitability were also discussed. Furthermore, the topic "Security" was on the agenda, on which the MHRA had organized a webinar a while ago and also published a blog post.
As soon as more information and updates are provided by the MHRA, we will report on them in our GDP newsletter.
