Purification by crystallization is usually part of the process. If the crude is stored as such and the purification by crystallization is a separate process then the start of crystallization process is taken as mafg. date.
Generally only the month is stated as manufacturing date for APIs, but many companies use the date of QC/QA release of the batch for distribution in the CofA as manufacturing date.
