Original contribution: Testing in Laboratory written by Rick on 4/23/2012 at 07:57) Dear Rick,
I don't know any precise regulation which would command for separate laboratories to test betalactams and non-betalactams (does someone known it in the Forum?).
However, strict precautions should be established and followed to avoid any retro-contamination of the non-betalactam production area with betalactam traces that could be collected in the laboratory.
For potent drug the risk is different in nature : in addition to the risk retro-contamination risk, laboratory operators should not be exposed to these products which means that safety "containment" precautions should be established. If not possible a dedicated lab could be needed.
Other opinions / inputs from the Forum ?
